It was time to say goodbye this morning - to 2 of our number departing for home & also to England.
From York we drove north this morning, headed for the Scottish border & ultimately to Edinburgh. Along the way we stopped to break our journey near Washington, the ancestral home town of George Washington's family!
We arrived in Edinburgh in time for lunch in the New Town, then met our local guide Christine we took us on an afternoon tour of Scotland's capital city.
After a stop to view the Palace of Holyroodhouse we drove around Arthur's Seat, the mountain/hill that dominates Edinburgh's skyline & affords great views of the city.
Later we explored some of the Old Town's streets on foot & ventured into Greyfriars graveyard to see the graves of |William McGonagal & the legendary Greyfriars Bobby.
Dinner this evening was in a seafood restaurant right beside our hotel in Leith, convenient & delicious, with views of a wonderful sunset over the Firth of Forth.
